Last year I was at my local Trader Joe's when I noticed containers of something called "kiwi grapes." I'd never heard of such a thing, so naturally I picked them up. They were small grape-sized fruits which were delicious and tart, sort of like regular kiwi, but sweeter and with a smooth, edible skin.

Last week at the market, I spotted some New Zealand kiwis for a good price. I know they're not local and organic, but they simply looked too plump and verdant to pass up, so I bought a ton. And, when life handed me a bunch of kiwis, what did I do?

Even though winter is hitting many of us hard, sometimes a frosty treat really hits the spot; especially when it's made with fresh fruit. That's why this kiwi sorbet has caught my attention. I'm going to pull the covers up, turn the heater on and indulge!

A cool and refreshing cocktail comes to mind whenever I hear the words Memorial Day, and this delicious kiwi lime drink is perfect for all types of Memorial Day barbecues. The recipe, which combines fresh chunks of kiwi, minced ginger, simple syrup, lime juice, and ginger ale, is nonalcoholic. However, vodka, gin, or a light rum can easily be added.

So far, in our journey through food-inspired jewelry, we've gone from apple bobby pins to junk food charms, and today we'll have a look at the letters K through O. I've found kiwi brooches, scented lollipop earrings, mushroom rings, nigiri earrings (mix and match even!) and for him: olive cufflinks. Know of any great food-inspired jewelry starting with K, L, M, N, or O?

A few weeks ago I talked to you about the Los Angeles based skin care brand Arcona. I've now had the opportunity to spend some time with the products and really get a feeling for how they affect my skin. One item that I've found noteworthy is the Kiwi Clarifying Peel ($85).

It's not hard to take your dinner table from blah to glam with these Kiwi Orchid Napkin Rings ($6) from Hazelnut, my favorite home shop in New Orleans. No need for fancy patterned table linens: these beauties will do the trick on a simple white table cloth, with white cloth napkins and some simple tea light votives. Just add a romantic homemade dinner and you'll be set (literally).

If you're one of those people that thinks that eating fiber is just about keeping regular, I've got some health news for you. Eating the recommended amount of fiber daily (25 to 30 grams) doesn't just improve your digestion. Getting your fill of fiber can also reduce your risk of breast cancer, ovarian cancer, help lower your cholesterol, prevent heart disease, and flatten your belly.
